Our Everyday Life

Pancake week 2015

We are quietly living our lives, day after day. Every Tuesday I bring children to dance lessons and while I wait in the car I listen to the radio and crochet a little. This week I suddenly realized that it’s February and about time for the Carnival. This can not be overlooked, we must celebrate the end of Winter! We decided to invite friends to our house for pancakes on Saturday.
On Thursday evening, Dad went to the meadow to collect straw for the straw dummy. What Carnival without seeing the most important member?DAD_0172

Throughout Friday straw dried up, and on Saturday Dad proceeded to the sacrament of manufacturing the hero of the occasion. Masya helped a lot.MOM_4902 DAD_0175

While Dad was busy bringing the straw beauty into proper form, I made almost 4 liters of dough and started frying pancakes with Ira’s help.MOM_4916 MOM_4919 MOM_4920

Mm-m, does it smell like pancakes here?

And then, finally, guests came. Seeing a mountain of pancakes, they were glad, and when they discovered a straw person in the backyard, their joy has increased even more.MOM_4923

Among other things with the pancakes there was also smoked fish :)

We decided to not postpone it and began to devour pancakes. They were so delicious that we preferred not to interrupt for documenting the process, and got up from the table only when the plate of pancakes became empty. After this friendly crowd gathered in the backyard to watch the final and most interesting part for which all of this was started 🙂

Guests thought and thought, and added little to the appearance.
