Another weekend starts, but unfortunately deadline for the Pavlik’s science project is approaching. That’s why this time only me and Ira went to hike on a railroad.
When we drove to the trail head we saw a lot of cars. This place is becoming very popular. However, we were going to hike in the opposite direction, so we were hoping that we will be alone. Certainly not! There was another group of young men that followed the same direction as we did, and I have a strong suspicion that they made it by mistake just because they were beginners, and didn’t know where to go.

The weather was perfect, warm and sunny. We hiked pretty fast and chatted about all sorts of things, and didn’t even notice how we made it to the small bridge and then the other one, Reliance Creek trestle. Last time I was here in dusk, so it was pretty dark under the bridge. But now it is very bright, so we looked under and saw a lot of graffiti.

Soon we came to the spot where the railway and a forest road are very close. We drove by this place :). The hike was easy up to that point, and the path was wide. But soon bushes become thicker, and we used our hands a lot to clean the path.

Finally in front of us we saw an old clearing. That was the goal for that hike, so we turned around and went back. Somewhere on our way back we noticed an old milepost, so we’ve hiked at least two miles in one direction.

We met several young women who arrived at the parking place almost at the same time as we did. They asked us about the tunnel, and it was quite embarrassing to disappoint them, because they also followed us by mistake.
