When I found that studio last year, I supposed I would have classes there by myself, since at the same time my class took place, the kids were busy in NVDC studio. However, somewhere in April or May, we realized that two of the participants can’t take part in the showcase because of their half-marathon in Las Vegas. An absence of two dancers from a group, where total is only six, is too much. Here is when the idea to invite Ira to replace one of the dancers came into my mind. The instructor wasn’t against it at all, so I started to teach Ira the dance on weekends, and then she showed up couple of times in the class and was completely ready by the time of showcase. And Angie, the instructor, found another participant so our dance was saved, woohoo!

Last year’s conflict with the Tap instructor, just a couple of weeks before the showcase, made it impossible for me to take her class. So I was looking for a replacement. I used to have a several hours of dancing per week, and didn’t want to change that. And watching last year’s Irish showcase dance gave me an idea to try that dance style. So I asked the Irish dance instructor if she would mind me joining her class. The problem was the time of the beginners class, it was too early in the day, so we made an agreement – she sends me the video of the basic steps and I practice them over the summer. Then she will evaluate my progress during a couple of private lessons and if everything is good she will allow me to join the next level class. Well, I did my homework well and joined the class I wanted in the fall. Here is the result 🙂
